Elk Bone Dagger-
11.5" overall length 6.5" blade. The Elk Bone Dagger is hand forged in a coal forge. Made from high carbon leaf spring steel that is forged then faceted by hand to give it the look of a napped obsidian blade. The handle is a New Mexico elk leg bone that was found in the sun bleaching naturally. The tang of the blade extends deep into the handle approximately 2.5-3 inches and is set in epoxy. The end of the handle is wrapped in twisted deer hide. This knife is strong and made to use. One side is faceted, to give it an authentic look, and the other is straight and can be sharpened to a razors edge. This knife comes with its own custom sheath made from thick cowhide that is hand sewn and then riveted in 5 places to keep the knife from cutting the stitching. The cowhide is then covered with a second sheath made from soft tanned whitetail deer hide. it is heavily fringed and there are antique beads that are tied into the fringe. The seems are hand beaded with red glass seed beads. The front is adorned with a green turquoise cross.  $320

TIERRA AMARILLA BONE NECK SHEATH-
9" overall length, with 5" blade. This napped steel blade is high carbon leaf spring steel that is forged in a coal fire and hammered by hand. The blade is then faceted to give it the look of napped flint. One side is traditional knife edge for cutting and skinning and the other side is serrated for ripping through tough materials. The blade has a long tang that extends deep into the New Mexico Elk leg bone that makes the handle. It is then glued into place and wrapped with rawhide to give it that authentic look and feel. The sheath is custom made for the knife and is intended to wear around the neck the way the Native American hunters did. This sheath is made from thick cowhide covered on the front with soft deer hide that is heavily fringed and beaded with antique trade beads, bone and deer dewclaws. The seams are beaded with black and white glass seed beads. It may look like a museum piece but is made to be used. Wear it hunting, or as an ornament. It shows well but is very functional.   $ price on request currently on display at Davis and Blevins Studio, St Jo, Texas
